Opal delves into the creation of amateur & pro-amateur porn. Through portraits of sex workers and images of manipulated and found environments, I give a view into adult performance outside of the sanitized mainstream videos often immediately imagined, leaving out the clientele and audience for a moment. As a part of these communities, I have access to intimate and off-screen moments on set and bring at least a partial understanding of the messy relationships between the many sectors of sex work. The work is shot on whatever media is available and safe at the moment, including 35mm film cameras, digital DSLRs, large-format view cameras, and cell phones.

2020 - Ongoing
